Franjo von Allmen
Franjo von Allmen is a Swiss alpine skier who swept three gold medals at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics — downhill, super-G and team combined — becoming the first male skier to win three golds at a single Games since Jean-Claude Killy in 1968.
Career
Born July 24, 2001 in Boltigen, Switzerland, von Allmen completed a four-year carpentry apprenticeship and worked construction summers while ski racing. After his father’s death when he was seventeen left the family in financial hardship, a crowdfunding campaign helped keep his training alive.
His World Cup debut came in March 2023 at Aspen; his first podium followed in January 2024, and his first win in January 2025 (super-G, Wengen). At the 2025 World Championships he won downhill and team combined gold. At the 2026 Winter Olympics he won downhill (Feb 7), team combined with Tanguy Nef (Feb 9), and super-G (Feb 11) — becoming the first Swiss winner ever of Olympic super-G.
